Made from high-purity isostatic graphite, this ring is installed on the hot-top casting platform and at the top of the crystallizer. It is a core, easily damaged component in aluminum/steel hot-top casting, receiving molten metal from the distribution plate and connecting the hot-top insulation zone with the water-cooled crystallization section.
Core Functions
1. Temperature Control and Insulation: Provides uniform heat conduction, maintains a constant liquid surface temperature, prevents premature crusting of the molten metal, and ensures a uniform solidification starting point.
2. Anti-sticking and Self-lubricating: Does not wet molten aluminum or steel, resulting in a smooth surface without material sticking or scratches during billet casting.
3. Flow Guiding and Sealing: Regulates liquid flow, reduces turbulence and slag entrapment, seals hot-top gaps, and prevents steel and aluminum overflow.
4. Buffering and Insulation: Insulates against direct impact of high-temperature molten metal on the water-cooled copper sleeve, extending the life of the crystallizer.
