Description

The entire unit is a single silicon nitride (Si₃N₄) ceramic component, consisting of a hollow shaft and a flow-dividing impeller. It is a core component for online aluminum molten refining and degassing, suitable for aluminum furnaces and online degassing boxes. It is used in conjunction with nitrogen/argon gas to purify molten aluminum and is integrated into hot-top casting production lines.
Inert gas is introduced through the hollow shaft. The high-speed rotation of the impeller breaks the airflow into tiny bubbles. As these bubbles rise, they adsorb hydrogen and alumina inclusions from the molten aluminum, forming scum that is removed, reducing porosity and inclusion defects in the cast billet.

Silicon Nitride Degassing Rotor

Advantages (Comparison with Traditional Graphite Rotors)

1. Extremely long service life: Antioxidant and wear-resistant, it can typically be used for 1 to 3 years; in contrast, the life of a graphite rotor is only 2 to 3 months, thus significantly reducing downtime and replacement frequency.
2. Resistant to Aluminum Molten Corrosion and Non-sticking to Aluminum: It does not react with molten aluminum, resulting in no carbon pollution, ensuring high-purity aluminum billet quality, and minimizing surface scum buildup for easy cleaning.
3. Thermal Shock Resistance and Crack Resistance: Resistant to thermal shock and frequent molten aluminum inflows and outflows, it does not easily break down. No prolonged preheating is required for temperature adjustments, making operation more convenient.
4. High Temperature Strength: Resistant to high-speed scouring and continuous high temperatures, it does not deform, maintains uniform bubble dispersion, and ensures stable and consistent degassing efficiency over the long term.
5. Low Consumable Costs: Long replacement cycle; overall maintenance, labor, and downtime costs are far lower than graphite rotors.
